MyFans Content Types Explained: Subscriptions, PPV, and Tips
Intro
If you've landed on a creator's page and aren't sure whether you need to subscribe, buy something separately, or both — this clears it up. MyFans uses three separate payment types, and mixing them up is the most common reason new fans overpay or underpay for what they actually wanted.
Section 1: Subscription — the base access
- A monthly recurring charge (typically ¥500–¥3,000) that unlocks a creator's regular feed content.
- Subscribing doesn't automatically unlock everything a creator posts — some content sits behind subscription, and some sits behind a separate PPV charge on top.
- Cancelling stops future renewals but usually doesn't cut off access until the current paid period ends.
Section 2: PPV (Pay-Per-View) — individual unlocks
- PPV stands for "pay-per-view" — a one-time charge for a single specific post or piece of content, separate from your subscription.
- Creators use this for premium individual content they don't want bundled into the base subscription price.
- You can be subscribed to a creator and still see locked PPV posts in their feed that require an additional payment to open.
Section 3: Tips — direct, no content attached
- Tips are optional payments sent directly to a creator, not tied to unlocking any specific content.
- Fans use tips to request something specific, show appreciation, or get noticed in a creator's messages — there's no fixed rule, it's a direct-support mechanism.
- Unlike subscriptions and PPV, tips don't come with an automatic content unlock — what a creator does in response, if anything, is entirely up to them.
Section 4: How they work together in practice
- A typical fan setup: subscribe for base access → buy PPV posts that catch your interest → tip on top if you want to support a creator directly or request something.
- None of these three are mutually exclusive — most active spending on the platform combines at least two of them.
Section 5: Before you spend
